shameless other people promotion!

I’m super excited to tell you that Jason Kimble wrote the first story in the most recent volume of Clockwork Phoenix (that would be #5).

“The Wind at His Back” is set in the same universe as “Hide Behind” and “Tall” (and you may find some continuity in it, if you’ve read those stories), and it’s actually an incredibly lovely story (it hits my narrative kink of long-term romance) in addition to being really, really cool.

I’m going to aim you all at Jason’s blog post about this story, which includes the buying links, and add that I remember reading this one in draft in my living room, and hoping very hard that it was the beginning of more Jason stories.  I cannot even begin to say just how happy I am that it was.  The world needs more writers like Jason.  (I can actually hear him blushing through the blog; it’s awesome.)

I read (you can check out my Goodreads if you want; it's linked on my blog). I write (I’ve been published in Cicada, On Spec, Strange Horizons, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Betwixt, Metaphorosis, Gallery of Curiosities, The Cassandra Project; the stuff that’s available online is linked on my blog). I plan for the inevitable zombie apocalypse and welcome the coming of the gorilla revolution. Or the anarchist rabbits. Whichever happens first. (I also blame my husband for basically everything.)
